No central point for public to access contribution disclosure documents
McPherson first to accept CTF offer to host campaign documents
Gary McPherson's Campaign Contribution List
EDMONTON: The Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) announced today that Progressive Conservative leadership candidate Gary McPherson's leadership campaign contributor list is accessible to the public at:

On Wednesday, the CTF sent letters to the eight former PC leadership candidates expressing concern about the lack of public access to these disclosure records and extended the offer of free web hosting of their campaign contribution documents on the CTF's award winning website - www.taxpayer.com.
"These campaign donation lists are vital pieces of public information. All leadership candidates need to ensure they are permanently available on-line to the public," said CTF-Alberta director Scott Hennig.
"Considering that five of the eight candidates have already taken down their websites, the PC Party needs to step-in and ensure this information doesn't simply disappear. Barring that, the CTF is willing to post these documents on its website," continued Hennig.
During the leadership race, the CTF questioned candidates in regards to campaign contribution disclosure. Two specific points were raised. First, whether candidates were prepared to disclose their campaign contributors prior to the first ballot vote; and second would the candidates introduce pre-election disclosure laws for all future elections in Alberta if elected party leader and premier.
